Founded in association with Rao’s Restaurant, East Harlem New York, KMTF’s mission is to provide need-based scholarships to Mt. Carmel-Holy Rosary (MCHR) school students from single parent families.

MCHR is located in an area of East Harlem with underperforming public schools and high levels of poverty and crime. The school prides itself on viewing each student as a unique individual, guaranteeing a superb educational and cultural opportunities. MCHR strives to keep tuition reasonable by charging families the low rate of $4,500 per school year even though the actual cost to annually educate a student is over $8,000.

Scholarships

The KMTF offers scholarships to deserving students, thereby ensuring that MCHR’s academic caliber and comprehensive education is available to all children, regardless of their financial background.

In addition to scholarships, the KMTF and MCHR’s combined efforts have enhanced the school’s art library and resources providing curriculum enhancements for students, including class field trips to Taglialatella Galleries!

After Frank Pellegrino ...

After Frank Pellegrino, the co-owner of Rao’s passed away, the Foundation redirected its efforts to the Frank Pellegrino Foundation which supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
